The Flight: A Monthly Book Sampler (February 2019)
Andrea Humphries, our resident bibliophile (and a board member), writes a monthly post about what she’s learned from the books she’s reading. Today, she’s here with what she learned in February:
Longing and Hope
I curled my hair this morning. Big loose curls that I tousled with fingertips and hairspray.
As the clock eventually inched toward bedtime, I ran my fingers through it a few times, and then I wept as I put it away into its nightly scrunchie.
Orgullosamente Negra, Orgullosamente Yo.
"Who do people say that I am?...Who do you say I am?", Jesus asked his disciples one day. Some told him what folks were saying on the grapevine. One disciple, affectionately called "The Rock" (way before Dwayne Johnson btw), said to him: "You are the Christ."
The Flight: A Monthly Book Sampler (January 2019)
We’re going to give something new a try here on the blog: Andrea, one of our resident bibliophiles (and board member), is going to write a monthly post about what she’s learned from the books she’s reading. Today, she’s here with what she learned in January:
Caring for Writers
It’s really so very simple to care for the writers in your life. Show them that you’re invested in them and their work. Celebrate them. Because there really is no such thing as too much good writing.
