Rev. Lauren Harris

Rev. Lauren Harris is an itinerant elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church with almost 20 years of ministerial experience. She has served in the A.M.E. Church's 2nd and 7th Episcopal Districts. Her experience includes youth ministry, women's ministry, singles ministry, and leadership development. Rev. Harris holds a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Maryland (College Park) and Master of Divinity from Howard University. During her matriculation at Howard, she served as the editor of the School of Divinity's newsletter for three years. She's been published in Sojourners magazine, Gospel Today magazine, the A.M.E. Church's The Christian Recorder, Washington Family, and Modern Loss to name a few. Her personal blog, Throw Up and Theology, examines marriage, motherhood, and ministry. In honor of her late first husband, Gabriel Jones, Rev. Harris volunteers for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (6 years) and was even a finalist in MADD's search for a national president in 2018. Rev. Harris is presently married to Marvine Harris, III and is the proud mother of two children, Kent (9) and Lacey (7).
